Service Announcement - freesitespace server

If you are reading this notice, you have come here via a bookmark or link to the freesitespace server, or from the NECL link on the Clacton Chess pages of this server. This was our main server but has only been used as a mirror/backup server for the last year or so. Search engines however still see this as a server like any other and log pages under the server name of clactonchess.freesitespace.net.
While both servers are working ok you should see the same pages whichever server you use, but please make your bookmarks for NECL or Clacton Chess pages, based on the domain name, not the server name.
i.e. type (or click on) http://necl.org.uk in your browser, then bookmark that. (ditto for http://clactonchess.org.uk ).

Reason: The necl and clactonchess domains are normally directed to the main server (currently server.microlite23.com)
If that server were to fail, I can adjust the domain-name-service to point to this freesitespace server, or any other backup server available.
Using bookmarks/links based on domain names rather than server names therefore means you are less likely to experience service outages and should be more reliable.

Current Problem on this Server: The freesitespace server is not mirroring our main server for all pages needing an SQL query.
This adversely affects all NECL result pages on this server. It is in need of administrator attention to increase the number of SQL database connections allowed to the server overall (the sum for all virtual hosts). When this function resumes you can view the mirror/backup service here.
